About Sabrina
I've always been drawn to the space where culture, creativity, and human stories intersect. My career began at Selvedge magazine, where I fell in love with the stories behind artisanal objects—not just what they are, but how they're made, what they mean, and the creative journeys that bring them to life.
That curiosity led me to Guatemala, where I worked with women's weaving cooperatives in Xela. I spent time learning about their processes, their communities, and their dreams. What started as fascination became a 15-year immersion in understanding how craft is deeply human-centered and how it can drive real sustainability and impact.
That's what Studio Iken is about. After years of working at every level—from local cooperatives to global supply chains—I saw that while each player contributes something essential, they're often disconnected. Studio Iken is a consultancy built as a partnership model, designed to help brands, artisans, institutions, and ventures work more holistically. I focus on strategy and operations, product development and ethical sourcing, sustainability and impact—always looking at how the pieces connect. Because real change happens when we treat the system as a living ecosystem, not a linear chain.
For me, craft is a lens for understanding systems, and relationships are the foundation of everything. I believe in transparent processes, working at a thoughtful pace, and building with reciprocity and intention at the core.
What anchors my work is attentive observation—sitting with questions about value, transparency, connection, and responsibility. It's detailed and thoughtful, like tracing threads in a weave until the pattern emerges. This often happens in the background, but it shapes every decision I make.
Studio Iken holds work that's strategic, relational, and creative all at once. It doesn't fit neatly into one category—and that's intentional.
